Ana Carolina Dantas Machado, Ph.D. currently lives in Southern California. She grew up in a small town in Brazil, where she was involved in community engagement efforts from an early age. During this time, she was exposed to projects aimed at empowering low-income communities. With a passion for science and helping others, she later pursued a career in biomedical sciences and recently completed her Ph.D.
Ana Carolina is excited by the prospects of this program and its potential to affect human health and disease through research and community engagement. She is fluent in Portuguese and English and intermediate in Spanish.
