The National Institutes of Health is seeking applications from candidates with experience providing leadership and direction for a communications program in a complex, distributed organization for the position of Director of Communications and Marketing for All of Us. The All of Us Research Program is a newly established office within the NIH Office of the Director. The highly visible initiative is building an engagement and digital data platform, enabling thousands of studies on what will be one of the world's largest, most diverse biomedical data sets. All of Us will engage one million or more U.S. volunteers of all life stages, health statuses, races/ethnicities, geographic regions, etc., reflecting the rich diversity of America. Mobilizing rich and constantly evolving data - from electronic health records, biospecimens, questionnaires, and electronic health records, to physical evaluations, sensors, and other technologies - the program will support research at the intersection of lifestyle, environment, and genetics to produce new knowledge, leading to the development of innovative prevention strategies and treatments for foundational health challenges.
The Director of Communications and Marketing will have full responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing all functions and services of the All of Us Research Program, Division of Communications. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Leading the branding and driving messaging for the All of Us Research Program.
- Overseeing media relations, serving as the point of content for all media inquiries regarding All of Us Research Program and its activities.
- Overseeing the internal communications for the program, developing and implementing internal communications activities and products including creating and maintaining intranet sites, and establishing collaboration sites for the program.
- Applying appropriate communications expertise to achieve highly levels of success for the program goals and communications objectives, applying the full array of current communications theories, practices, skills, and knowledge.
- Deploying market/audience analytics to develop targeted communication strategies designed to reach a variety of communities across the continuum and adjust those strategies as required and appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing strategy and coordinating a national, regional, and local media approach, and implementing major communications and marketing effort for a large, complex, distributed organization; designing and coordinating major brand and innovative materials (collateral) supportive of program mission; conducting significant research using cutting-edge information technology methods and evaluation to analyze the impact of communication and marketing campaigns.
