Elizabeth "Beth" Rubinstein is a patient advisor with the Henry Ford Health System TACH for the All of Us Research Program. She has been a driving force in helping health care leaders and health care providers understand the importance of bringing the patient and family perspective to patient care. Beth has extensive experience in marketing and business operations, human resource management, international commerce, and owner-operated businesses. Her advocacy experience with community organizations, multi-platform program development services, and community volunteerism has provided keen insights into the challenges of the health care system.
In 1992, Beth added personal management of chronic disease to her résumé upon being diagnosed with a rare genetic medical condition with a terminal prognosis. She received a lifesaving organ transplant in 2007. Through her personal experience, she developed a comprehensive patient-to-patient education program and established the Transplant Living Community of Henry Ford Hospital in 2008 to address the non-medical lifestyle and self-management skills needed to navigate the instability of chronic disease. The experience has fueled a passion for empowering patients and families to become engaged teammates with their clinicians for better health management and integration of the patient voice within the medical care process and research initiatives.
Beth has served as a patient advisor on business, clinical quality improvement, education, and governance units since 2009. She has been involved with the All of Us Research Program from its inception and has provided feedback from a patient and participant perspective on multiple accounts. Beth is supported by three great men in her life: a wonderful husband of 38 years and two adult sons.
