Jeannie Karwowski (she/her) was born in South Korea and moved to the U.S. with her family as a teenager. Growing up in an immigrant family, she has learned how to embrace Eastern and Western cultures and speaks multiple languages. Jeannie had cancer symptoms in her late 20s and was diagnosed soon after her 30th birthday. Since then, she has seen herself as a thriver and advocated for underserved people in the cancer community, particularly young adults, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse individuals. Having been treated by new cancer drugs that saved her life, she advocates for scientific, medical, and clinical research, as they are the keys to finding better treatments and curing diseases. Jeannie lives with her husband and a therapy dog named Cookie in Massachusetts.
