Minnkyong Lee

Minnkyong Lee (Minnky), Ph.D., is a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), and is starting an assignment with the All of Us Engagement Team. She joined the Metastasis Genetics Section at the NHGRI for her postdoctoral training in 2010. Since then she has been characterizing the roles of novel metastasis suppressors in breast and prostate cancer using various genetic and molecular biological techniques. Based on her research, she has authored several peer-reviewed manuscripts and has received notable awards, including an American Association for Cancer Research Scholar-in-Training Award and an NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence. In addition to her research, Dr. Lee also has a strong passion for teaching and science education, and has lectured and volunteered at various institutions. She is an adjunct associate professor at Northern Virginia Community College and is a part of the Education and Community Involvement Branch at NHGRI as well. Her research in metastasis genetics and her experience interacting with people from diverse communities led her to her current position with the All of Us Engagement Team.
