Ray Lay (he/him) is a formerly homeless, honorably discharged U.S. Marine living with a dual diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and polysubstance abuse issues. Today, Ray is a home and business owner, a Department of Veterans Affairs Peer Support Specialist, an Indiana Community Health Worker/Certified Recovery Specialist (CHWCRS), and a Forensic Peer Support Specialist. He is a member of the local Coalition on Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) Continuum of Care’s Indiana Disability Rights and Indiana Behavioral Health Commission and a member of both the Indiana and National Alliance on Mental Illness Boards of Directors.
