The All of Us Research Program has awarded an initial $39 million to Vibrent Health, of Fairfax, Virginia, through a new award to continue leading the program’s Participant Technology Systems Center. With this funding, Vibrent Health will develop digital technologies to make it easy for people nationwide to take part in the program.
“The Participant Technology Systems Center offers critical infrastructure to help people enroll, contribute information securely, and stay connected with the program over time—paving the way for key discoveries that may help improve health in the future,” said Josh Denny, M.D., All of Us’s chief executive officer.
Vibrent Health has supported the program since 2016, during which time it has developed an online portal and mobile application for participants, as well as a suite of software tools and services to support All of Us consortium partners nationwide.
In this next phase, the organization will work in collaboration with a network of academic institutions and industry partners that will bring further expertise in technology innovation and validation, research and data science, and emerging cybersecurity approaches. These partners include:

- HackerOne, San Francisco, California
- ICF, Fairfax, Virginia
- University of California, San Francisco
- University of Virginia, Charlottesville
To date, more than 356,000 participants have enrolled in the program so far using Vibrent Health’s digital platform, including more than 271,000 who have completed all the initial steps of the program. Of those, more than 80% come from communities that are historically underrepresented in research—racial and ethnic minorities, sexual and gender minorities, residents of rural areas, and other groups.
