Today the All of Us Research Program released the white paper “Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) in the All of Us Research Program: Learnings, Vision, and Approach for Addressing Current and Emergent Issues.” It details the role of ELSI in shaping the program from its inception and the program’s plans for integrating ELSI going forward.
The white paper and its “Key Insights” companion piece build on the program’s June 2019 workshop on ELSI research priorities, involving ELSI professionals and All of Us participant ambassadors. With their input, All of Us has adopted a broad vision that endeavors to include ELSI stakeholder perspectives in the development of program policies and processes, increase communication and transparency, and enable ELSI research.
“We are grateful to our workshop attendees for their invaluable feedback, and we look forward to building on those conversations over the years ahead in partnership with our participants and the ELSI community,” said All of Us Policy Director Katherine Blizinsky, Ph.D.
